Definitions
- Probation: A formal disciplinary action that allows a licensee to continue practicing chiropractic under specific terms and conditions for a defined period of time. Failure to comply with these terms may result in further discipline, including suspension or revocation.

Public Reproval: A temporary pause of the probationary period. When probation is tolled, the time during which it is paused does not count toward the completion of the probation term. As a result, the probation period is effectively extended by the length of time it was tolled.
Tolling may occur under certain circumstances, such as when the licensee is not actively practicing in California or when the license is inactive, expired, or suspended. Once tolling ends, the probation period resumes from where it left off. An estimated completion date is not available while probation is in tolling status.
